Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only treat people injured at work or in
a car accident?
No. Dr. Cluen has helped thousands of patients recover
from automobile and work related injuries. He has also helped an equal
amount of people with problems that were not due to a car or work accident.
We pride ourselves in helping injured people get out of pain and back
to normal functioning, regardless of how the problem started. We see
and treat many different types of conditions at the Auto & Work
Injury Center.
What is the difference between a doctor that
specializes in auto & work accidents and one that does not?
There are several differences between these two doctors.
The first is the ability to correctly diagnose and treat the problems
of the patient. Our office specializes in car and work injuries ensuring
that we come up with the best possible diagnosis and treatment plan.
Also, documentation is a huge concern for anyone involved in an accident.
If the office does not keep detailed and accurate records, the patients
claim may be reduced or even denied. Our office uses a very comprehensive
documentation system.
What insurance do I use to be treated after an
accident?
If the injured was the result of a car accident- you must
use your auto insurance to pay for the treatment. Many patients have
had problems with their claims and cases because they used their regular
health insurance after an accident. Whichever doctor you see, make sure
that they use your auto insurance if it was related to an auto accident.
Our office accepts auto insurance as the full payment for the treatment
(No out of pocket expenses to our patients).
Will my auto insurance go up if I get treated
for injuries I sustained in a car accident?
If you were not at fault in the accident (ie. Someone
else caused the accident) then your policy will not increase.
If you caused the accident, the increase in your rates
are based only on damage to your car. Your rates will not go up based
on if you receive treatment for your injuries or not. If you are suffering
from any of the symptoms listed under the “Auto Accident”
section, you owe it to yourself to get examined to see the extent of
your injuries. Whiplash will cause lifelong problems in a large percent
of people injured in accidents.
Will I have to take off my clothes?
No. Examinations and treatments are done with the clothes
on.
Does the examination or treatment hurt?
It's virtually painless. We know you are already in pain,
and will do nothing to add to it.
What is an adjustment?
An adjustment is a gentle, specific movement of part of
your body, the purpose of which is the correction of your spinal subluxation(s),
which in turn will alleviate the impairment of nerve function in your
body. It is not only painless, but often is pleasurable. After your
vertebrae are back in their proper position, you will feel much less
stress and tension.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Statistics prove that chiropractic care is one of
the safest types of healthcare in the world. You only need to compare
the malpractice premiums paid by chiropractors to those paid by medical
doctors. Doctors of Chiropractic pay only one-twentieth of what medical
doctors pay in malpractice premiums.
Should I continue chiropractic care if I don't
have any symptoms and I feel better?
This is like asking, Should I continue to brush my teeth
if I do not have cavities? The answer is obvious. Your spine is constantly
being subjected to subversive impulsive forces--forces delivered in
falls, bumps, and even while sleeping. Even though your last ailment
may have disappeared after treatment, there may be symptoms unrecognized
by you that are even now doing long-term damage to your body. Just as
it is important for you to visit the dentist periodically, even if you
don't feel dental pain, so is it important for you to visit the chiropractor
periodically.
